The English Language Proficiency exam is designed to test the students’ command of English for Academic Purposes at the B2 Common European Framework of Reference level. It is a complex assessment of students’ oral and written proficiency for a university setting. The written part includes grammar and lexical exercises, a reading comprehension text, and a summary writing task based on two sources. The oral part focuses on the students’ ability to respond to a visual stimulus of an infographic representing a topic for discussion, as well as the ability to discuss a current affairs topic of the student's choice. All exercises in both parts of the exam require the student to be proficient in English for Academic purposes, demonstrating both the required level of language skills, as well as other study skills such as critical and creative thinking. Students must have successfully completed Language Development Courses 1 to 5 in order to be able to sit the exam.
