The aim of this course:

The aim of this course is the presentation and interpretation of the principles and practice of coaching and mentoring, the definition and differences among various types of supporting professions. This course focuses on the process and tools of coaching and mentoring, on the basis of self-knowledge. The main topics are the basic process and tools of coaching and mentoring.  The whole learning process is based on practice, students getting their own experience, and developing their self-reflection and self-recognition.

Competencies to develop:

−       the students know and understand the basic theories of coaching and mentoring

−       the students understand the differences among supporting professions

−       the students can practice understanding attention, active listening, and effective questioning

−       the students know the basic coaching process and some tools in theory and practice

−       the students go ahead at self-reflection, self-knowledge, and self-recognition

−       the students know the basics of nonviolent communication

−       the students know the international organizations and ethics of coaching

−       the students have an interest in using  coaching and mentoring at leadership and performance
