The course focuses on the connection between the member states and the EU’s regional policy to achieve
economic and social cohesion. The aim of the course is to develop the students’ oral and written language and
communication skills, to help them handle lexical problems, and to build their vocabulary through a variety of
exercises and activities focusing on specific EU terminology. An additional goal of the course is to improve the
students’ practical skills such as critical thinking, debating, reasoning and oral presentation. Evaluation is based on
active class participation, regular home assignments and an end-of-term in-class paper.
